ABOUT US
ROOTED IN FIRE | BUILT ON TRUST | DEDICATED TO THE LAND
What We Believe
That wildfire readiness should start at the ground level—with informed, empowered landowners.
That land management isn’t just about removing trees—it’s about creating resilient landscapes.
That a well-designed property can support both safety and beauty, wildlife and people.
That fire crews deserve a fighting chance, and our work on the homefront helps give them one.
Who We Are
Firebreak Management was founded by Jessica Braun, a former wildland firefighter with years on Montana hotshot crews, Forest Service trail teams, and emergency response units. After working on the frontlines of wildfire, Jessica saw firsthand the gap between homeowners and the realities of what land actually needs to survive fire—and thrive beyond it.
Today, Firebreak is a land stewardship company rooted in experience, driven by ethics, and guided by a commitment to long-term forest health. We design and execute thoughtful wildfire mitigation and forestry projects across Montana, blending safety, ecology, and aesthetics.
Because we believe your land can do more than sit and hope for luck. It can be part of the solution. Our work reduces fuel, restores access, opens up wildlife corridors, protects views, and creates forests you can walk through again.
We approach each project with the question: What’s the right outcome here—for the land, the homeowner, and the bigger picture? This isn’t about making properties “fireproof.” That word doesn’t exist in nature. This is about thoughtful, grounded preparation that honors the complexity of fire, forests, and people.
